My morning skincare routine isn’t just a superficial thing for me. Taking care of my skin is a way to fill my cup, honor my femininity, sow seeds of confidence to face the day, and feel clean, fresh, and beautiful. To you, it may mean something different. Regardless, here’s my current morning skincare routine, and I’m only using Nimo Naturals products!

Also, my skin is not perfect. I suffered from mid-severe acne in my teen years. I still have hyperpigmentation, scars, and texture in various areas of my skin. I also still get breakouts here and there, but I still choose to take care of my skin, as I find the best practices for it, and the best products for my problem areas. I would attest that healthy skincare practices have allowed my skin to get to where it’s at today. So, this is just a disclaimer/encouragement for anyone out there who has struggled/still struggling with their skin. It gets better, don’t give up! Also, aim for healthy skin as opposed to perfect skin. You’ve been on Earth for a while now, it’s only normal for your skin to reflect that. Scars, texture, hyperpigmentation, whatever it may be, is normal. Anyway, let’s get into it.

Step 1: Cleanse

Product: Nimo Naturals Turmeric & Liwa Soap Bar

Cleansing is usually the first step in any skincare routine and involves using soap or cleansing product to clean your skin. I have been using the Nimo Naturals Turmeric and Liwa soap for some time now, and these are a few of the reasons why;

✅Turmeric is often used in skincare products and is well-known for its skin-brightening abilities.

✅Liwa is sandalwood powder which does the same. The two ingredients work together to brighten your complexion, reduce hyperpigmentation, and even out your skin tone.

✅Don’t you just hate it when a cleanser strips all the moisture from your skin? Well, this one has honey, shea butter, and coconut oil, which keeps your skin hydrated and moisturized as it cleanses.

✅It is also relatively unscented so if you have sensitive skin, it won’t irritate.

With clean hands, I rinse my face with lukewarm-cold water. I then take my Nimo Naturals Turmeric & Liwa Soap Bar, lather it in my hands, and then massage the cleanser all over my face for about 60 seconds.

60 seconds is sufficient for the cleanser to effectively cleanse your pores, providing a clean base, ready for the next products in your routine.

I then rinse off the cleanser with lukewarm-cold water and pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel/air dry with my handheld fan if I have time.

Step Two: Tone

Product: Nimo Naturals Rose Water

Toning is not a must-have step in your skincare routine but I have it in mine as a booster to the state of my skin, and by the time you hear about how amazing the Nimo Naturals Rose Water is, you’ll want to include it to your routine. Let’s talk about this product;

✅Rose Water is extracted from, you guessed it, Rose petals. It’s a gentle yet powerful ingredient that has been used in beauty products since time immemorial.

✅It is hydrating, leaving your skin plump and radiant. This then also minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores.

✅Regular use balances your skin’s pH. This then balances its moisture reducing excess sebum/oil production which would cause breakouts.

✅It is revitalizing and refreshing. A spritz of rose water on your skin leaves you feeling refreshed, and that can be reason enough to include it in your routine.

I bought a whole ‘mtungi’ since I use it daily, and transferred it to a bottle. I do a few pumps into my palms and press it onto my skin and that is it.

Step Three: Moisturize

Product: Nimo Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Facial Cream

A moisturizer does exactly what it is called to your skin, moisturize. Moisturizing protects your skin barrier by keeping your skin hydrated. The Nimo Naturals Hyaluronic Acid Facial Cream does this and more.

✅The cream’s main ingredient is Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid is a powerful humectant that intensely hydrates your skin. A humectant is a product that absorbs moisture from the environment and transfers it to your skin, keeping it plump and hydrated.

✅The cream is also lightweight and thus doesn’t leave an annoying greasy feel on your skin.

✅It is also unscented, thus suitable if you have sensitive skin. You will be less likely to experience irritation.

After the toner has been absorbed into my skin, I take some moisturizer in my hands, dab it, and apply it all over my skin, both face and neck.

Step Four: Sun Protection

Product: Nimo Naturals Sunscreen

Sunscreen is the most essential product in your skincare routine because it is a product that protects your skin from the harsh effects of sun exposure. If you do all the aforementioned steps and fail to do this one, your products will be wasteful because you won’t derive all the amazing benefits from the products applied in prior steps. The Nimo Naturals Sunscreen is amazing because;

✅It has an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 50+. This ensures that your skin is protected from UVA/UVB sun rays, that cause hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, and sun damage.

✅It is non-comedogenic, meaning it doesn’t clog your pores.

✅Most importantly, it does not leave a white cast! It’s usually a struggle for most women who look like me, to find a sunscreen that doesn’t blend into their skin, well, this one not only does that but also leaves a beautiful glow.

I will mention that I also enjoy this product because of its design. Ideally, you are supposed to apply two fingers long of sunscreen to adequately protect your face and neck. The design of the bottle makes it so easy to do that.

I apply two fingers long, to my face and neck until it blends in my skin. I then apply plain Vaseline or Vaseline lip therapy lip balm and call it a day.

And, that is my current skincare routine, using Nimo Naturals products.

I highly recommend Nimo Natural products because they are locally made and found, cruelty-free, and affordable.

I hope you will try one or several of the products I have mentioned. However, the results you derive from the product use are relative to how your skin reacts. If it works for you, well and good, if it doesn’t, pivot and find what does.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this! Remember to Like & Comment on the product you will be getting.

Till next post,
